MCCPL Children’s and Young Adult Department Policies
The Children’s Department is for children up to the age of 11. The Young Adult Department is for teens from 12 up to 18 years of age. When all seats in the Young Adult Department are occupied, students are to be sent to the Children’s Department for seating. Patrons age 19 and up are to be sent to Reference for seating and/or computers. A responsible adult must accompany all children under the age of 8. No child under the age of 16 may be responsible for younger children. Children ages 8 and up may stay in the Children’s Department by themselves. Seating for adult patrons not accompanying a child may be found in the lobby or the second floor. Adults may only use computers in the Computer Lab or Reference Department on the second floor.
ALL ORDERS OF LIBRARY STAFF AND SECURITY PERSONNEL MUST BE OBEYED. DISRESPECT OF THE LIBRARY STAFF, RUDE TREATMENT, AND/OR OFFENSIVE LANGUAGE TOWARD LIBRARY STAFF WILL NOT BE TOLERATED.
