In My Life Video Competition


Montgomery City-County Public Library - In My Life Video Competition

Topic:

What is the significance of Juneteenth becoming a national holiday? How do you celebrate Juneteenth?

Participant:

  • All participants must be 6+ years old and residents of Montgomery County.
  • Participants must agree to be videoed, photographed, and allow their creation to be used for the City of Montgomery and MCCPL publicity.
  • Categories: Youth (age 6-12), Teen (age 13-18), Adult (age 19+)
  • Participants may enter with individual submissions or as part of a group. Group submissions should be entered based on the age of the oldest participant.

Video Submission:

  • Videos must be submitted no later than Tuesday, November 30, 2021 at 11:59 pm via https://bit.ly/InMyLife2021.
  • Videos should be no longer than ten minutes and should be submitted as a URL link.
    • URL Links must be in an accessible format for public viewing
  • Video name should read: (Name of individual or group) . (Name of video project)
  • MCCPL is not responsible for any corrupted files, bad links, or undeliverable entries.

Official Rules:

  • The video should address the topic of the contest. See above: “Topic”
  • Late entries will not be accepted after November 30, 2021 at 11:59 pm.
  • Individual contestants may be a part of only one video submission.
  • Submitted videos must be original, researched, compiled, and edited by the contestants.
  • Presentations may be created in a variety of ways: speech, interview, theatrical, song, art, animation, or other. All entries must be submitted as a video, understood by the viewer, and address the topic.
  • The video should contain a credit reel of all participants and their role in the creation of the video.
  • If needed, the video should contain a works cited for any images, music, quotes, or other content taken from sources not original to the creator of the piece.
    • Videos containing uncited content or majority of the video contains unoriginal content will be marked as copyrighted and be disqualified.
  • Videos that contain images or language that is profane, racially insensitive, and/or sexually provocative will be disqualified.

  • Video editing software: Use whatever software you want. The computers at the library have basic video editing software for public use!

Awards and Publicity:

  • Prizes will be awarded to the top three participants in each of the following categories: Youth, Teen, and Adult.
  • Winners will be notified by email.
  • Winning submissions will be featured on the MCCPL website and social media pages.
