Title: Department of Archive & History Alabama Highlights
Location: Juliette Hampton Morgan Memorial Library
Intended Audience: Ages 11+
Description:  Department of Archive & History Alabama Highlights “Alabama has a rich musical history made up of gospel, soul, the blues, country, and rock and roll. The people of Alabama have made great contributions to all of these genres and more—people like Hank Williams, Sr., W.C. Handy, Nat King Cole, Candi Staton, Dinah Washington, and Lionel Richie. We will pay homage to the native Alabamian musicians of yesterday and to the many great artists who came here to record music in iconic studios like Muscle Shoals Sound Studio and FAME Studios. During the program children will dress up like famous musicians, make a craft, read a book, and play several games dealing with music”!
