COMPUTER LAB
The Internet and more is offered in our Computer Lab, located on the second floor of the Juliette Hampton Morgan Memorial Library of the Montgomery City-County Public Library.  The computer lab was established in 1998 with a gift from the Gates Library Foundation. The lab and computer equipment are supported today through funding by the City of Montgomery, the Montgomery County Commission, the Library Services and Technology Act, and the federal e-rate program.
 
Join us and learn to use:  Internet Explorer, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, Access, and more.

Hours are subject to change...
Monday through Wednesday:  9:00 a.m. - 8:30 p.m.
Thursday and Friday:  9:00 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.
Saturday:  9:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
Sunday:  2:00 p.m. - 5:30 p.m.

TUESDAY ADULT CLASSES
Tuesday adult classes are held on the first, second, and third Tuesdays of the month at 10:00 a.m.
  
October 2, 2018 – Job Searching (Part 1)
Learn to use the Internet to search for a job and the basics of how to set-up an e-mail account which is vital for most online job applications.
 
October 9, 2018 – Job Searching (Part 2)
Learn to use online job boards and job search engines to find the right job for you.
 
October 16, 2018 – Resume Workshop 
An introduction to resources available through the Library to help you write your resume.  Learn where to get help with the following topics: getting an email account, storing your electronic resume, determining what to put on your resume and how to organize it, and creating your electronic resume. Make sure to bring pertinent information or old resumes so that they can be updated.
 
October 23, 2018 – Open Resume Workshop (Editing)
Continue editing your updated resume and have it reviewed by library staff. Students may get one copy of their resume printed on resume paper furnished by the computer lab.
 

SATURDAY CHILDREN'S CLASSES
The first Saturday of every month is for 1st-4th Grade 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM  and 5th-8th Grade 11:00 AM- 12:30 PM

October 6, 2018 – Word (MS Office 2016)
Students will learn how to do basic formatting, how to copy and paste, how to insert images, how to check your document for spelling and grammar errors, and how to save and print.
 
SATURDAY ADULT CLASSES
Saturday adult classes are held on the third Saturday of every month at 10:00 a.m.

October 20, 2018 – Open Lab
Get help with your job search and/or bring your questions about basic computer skills including how to use the internet, email, and Microsoft Word. No prerequisites.
