Library Board Welcomes New Members

 Three new members have been appointed to the Montgomery City-County Public Library Board of Trustees, Ms. Janet Waller, Mr. Kenneth Coleman, and Dr. Eddie Johnson. Ms. Waller is a former employee of Hanson Galleries in New Orleans, Louisiana, where she was Communications Director of the San Francisco, California based company.   Mr. Coleman is the Vice President of Southern Division for Alabama Power Company, a subsidiary of Southern Company, where he provides leadership for more that 600 employees who keep lights on 99.9% of the time, and provide award-winning customer service to more than 220,000 customers.  He also facilitates economic and community development in 14 counties throughout central Alabama. Dr. Johnson is the Deputy State Superintendent of Education for Alabama.  Prior to being named to this position, he worked in the department as an assistant state superintendent, director, education administrator, and education specialist. Maranda Phillips Jones has been a member of the Montgomery  City/ County Friends of the Library for the past 10 years, first volunteering in the bookstore then bookstore manager , then becoming a member of the board 8 years ago, and voted president of the Friends of the Library this past April. Maranda is a Pediatric Nurse working for Dr Jim Carlile, MD for the past four years.
